Our Vision
...that Jesus will have first place in everything. (Colossians 1:18)

We recognize God has placed us at this location to share the love of Jesus with people of every social and economic status, culture and ability or disability. We are committed to helping people relate to God and each other through His grace. From all over the Twin Cities we come together, with this common vision, that Jesus will have first place in everything.

Our Core Values

We Focus on Jesus
We love Him because He first loved us. He died on the cross and rose again to pay the penalty for our sins and to set us free from sin's hold on us. Without Jesus, all people are hopelessly separated from God.

We build on Biblical foundation
We are committed to the study of God's Word. It is the final authority in understanding God and His purposes for us, and in guiding our attitudes and conduct. Our preaching, teaching, and other ministries will be faithful expressions of His Word. Every person needs to grow in relationship with Jesus. As a community of believers we will nurture one another toward Christian maturity.

We depend on God
We depend, totally, on God's grace and generous provisions. He is the source of our energy, our resources and our very lives.

We are committed to prayer
We spend focused time with God, together and individually, because we love Him. We earnestly seek His guidance and help in all we do.

We seek the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit
We endeavor, by the help of the Holy Spirit, to live effective and fruitful lives. We encourage the gifts of the Spirit following the model of the New Testaments Christians.

We express our love in Worship
We come together to praise ad worship God in all His glory and encourage variety in our expression of love for Him.

We desire to be instruments of healing
We bring people to Jesus for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.

We bring people to Jesus
We are responsible to bring the Good News of Christ's saving grace to the people of our city and to do all we can to reach the unreached people in the rest of the world. We sense an urgency to reach others because the return of Jesus is imminent.

We respect individuals
Every person is created in God's image and is very important to God and to us. No cultural differences, disabilities, or personal difficulties will cause anyone to be considered less important among us. Everyone the Lord brings to us will be accepted, included, and given opportunity to heal and grow, without fear of judgment, rejection, or gossip. Together we form a unique congregational profile that we affirm and celebrate.

We endeavor to build strong families
We believe in and work to develop strong, healthy family relationships; to provide support and resources for struggling families; and to be a family to the lonely. We share responsibility for the care and nurture of each household.

We share the responsibilities of ministry
We are accountable to God and to one another for our attitudes, actions, and words. We generously offer our resources, gifts, and talents God has given each of us for the benefit of others and the furtherance of God's kingdom. We are committed to working together to achieve the best possible results in every area of our ministry.

Our Strategy

As we, the Summit congregation, seek to live out our vision and core values, these strategies will guide us:

Praying
We will pray, personally and corporately, for God’s guidance, wisdom, blessing, and enabling presence in people’s lives and ministry opportunities.

Reaching
We will reach people for Christ from diverse cultures, backgrounds, abilities, and social/economic status within and beyond our location in the city.

Discipling
We will help believers encounter God and grow in Christ through Biblical, Spirit-empowered preaching, teaching, worship and fellowship.

Serving
We will mobilize believers to commit to and share in ministry opportunities.
